Image Racing has close ties within the Richard Childress Racing organisation and continues to work closely on driver development pathways and associations within the ranks of Nascar. Co-Hosting Richard personally in Adelaide in 2023 and a lifelong friendship with Crew chief Andrew Dickerson have developed into a mutual appreciation and pairing.

Founded in 1969, Richard Childress Racing is one of the largest and most storied organizations in NASCAR competition. RCR currently fields two teams in the NASCAR Cup Series and two teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Throughout our history, RCR has accumulated a total of 16 championships and 200 victories across NASCAR’s top three series, including three Daytona 500 wins (1998, 2007, 2018), three Brickyard 400 victories (1995, 2003, 2011), and one Indy Road Course win, two of the sport’s crown jewels of competition. RCR was the first organization in NASCAR history to win championships across all three national touring series.

On our 15-building, 52-acre campus in Welcome, North Carolina, RCR’s 350+ team members build race cars from the ground up in a fully-integrated vertical manufacturing operation. With a culture focused on innovation, our engineering team utilizes cutting-edge technologies to continuously improve the performance of our race cars.

Our headquarters is also home to ECR Engines, a subsidiary of RCR that provides high-performance motors to us, and other Chevrolet teams in NASCAR’s top three national series. ECR uses advanced technologies for research & development and engine production that has earned it more than 200 victories across multiple national motorsports series and championships in the Xfinity, Craftsman Truck and ARCA Racing Series. ECR has also reached success in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Series powering the Cadillac DPi-V.R.

Image racing has worked extremely closely with Erebus motorsport for many years. Longstanding personal Friendships with Betty Kilmenko, Barry Ryan and many others within the team are at the core of our operations and are highly valued. 

The Erebus Academy Super 2 and Super 3 programs are central to our operations and many young drivers reap the rewards of this partnership. The sharing of engineering resource and knowledge is a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Erebus Motorsport emerged in 2011 under the guidance of visionary team owner Betty Klimenko. With a rich history in GT racing both domestically and internationally, Betty's ambition didn't stop there. She took the bold step of acquiring a Supercars team, imprinting it with the Erebus brand.

The team's relocation from Queensland to Melbourne in 2016 signalled a transformative phase. Emphasising quality over quantity, Erebus assembled a squad poised to challenge the racing giants. Perseverance bore reward in 2017 when Erebus defied odds, clinching the prestigious

Bathurst 1000 title, elevating themselves from the ranks of the underdogs. The team etched its mark in history as only the second team to conquer both the Bathurst 12 Hour and Bathurst 1000. Fast forward to 2023, and Erebus Motorsport stood unrivalled. Emerging victorious from the season with both Drivers and Teams Championship success, they solidified their status as a force to be reckoned with. Yet, as the dawn of 2024 beckoned, new challenges emerged, requiring the team to dig deep and remember the foundations upon which it was built. But rise again they shall, fuelled by courage, camaraderie, and the unwavering spirit of the underdog.
